When all you can do is
stand by near,
easing them from their fear
Of passing on, its a scary thought
when you know cancer and time has your soul bought.
Quiet I wait to listen to hear
the darkness still, the stars so near
I wonder if I can ever contain this peace
This time in place, my adrenaline release.
In the shadows of the forest, among the beech trees,
Something moves, rustles and whispers.
Flames flicker, their glow dances
around colorful figures, leaves and rocks.
It’s the roaming Gypsy band,
with flashing eyes and waving hair—
Weaned on the Niles holy waters,
and browned by Spains scorching sun…
So. I own 2 pairs of flip flops. Unfortunately, in each pair the right flip flop broke. For the past two weeks ive been walking around with a left foot flip flop on both feet. Today I tripped on the way to class, and I hear a “snap!” as my Right-Left foot flip flop flies from my feet. Now I own one left flip flop—but I’ve decided to go barefoot. Do you understand my pain?
